Ten years they’ve been rusting, needing so much more than dusting! Today, we’ve got our very first look at Cogsworth and Lumiere as they appear in next year’s hugely-anticipated, live-action Beauty and the Beast. The above shot, which is included as part of a preview on the upcoming 25th Anniversary Blu-ray edition of the 1991 animated version, was first picked up on Twitter.
A Walt Disney Pictures production, director Bill Condon’s live-action take on Beauty and the Beast stars Emma Watson as Belle, Dan Stevens as Beast, Ian McKellen as Cogsworth, Ewan McGregor as Lumiere, Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as LeFou, Kevin Kline as Maurice (Belle’s father), Emma Thompson as Mrs. Potts, Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Plumette, the feather duster and Stanley Tucci as a grand piano named Cadenza.
It’s hard to tell from today’s photo exactly how anthropomorphized Cogsworth and Lumiere will be in the final film. It’s likely that we’ll see a different look for them very soon, so check back for updates
