JUST ANNOUNCED: A NEW Nighttime Fireworks Show is Coming to Magic Kingdom!

  • Wishes fireworks end at Magic Kingdom on May 11, “Happily Ever After” debuts May 12

Disney have just announced “Happily Ever After,” a new nighttime fireworks show that will premiere at Magic Kingdom in Florida on May 12, 2017.

Which means that the long beloved “Wishes” firework show will have its final performance on May 11, 2017.

This is obviously very upsetting news to many Disney park fans around the world, as Wishes is a very popular show.

But before you reach for the tissues…

Jennifer Fickley-Baker, an Editorial Content Manager for the Disney Parks Blog, tells us that the new show “will inspire guests to seek out and find their own ‘Happily Ever After’ by showcasing some of the greatest adventures Disney characters have taken to achieve their dreams. The show will feature the latest fireworks and pyrotechnics and original animation, plus a heart-tugging original score.”

As we’ve seen with the recent Star Wars fireworks at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, “Happily Ever After” will use a lot of projection mapping on the iconic Cinderella Castle. The show will also feature characters from Moana, Brave, Big Hero 6, Zootopia, The Princess & The Frog and Aladdin.

The new Magic Kingdom fireworks show will also have a Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace, just as was offered with “Wishes.”
