With all the delicious food you can find throughout the Walt Disney World Resort, it comes as no surprise that Disney often receive awards for their miraculous culinary feats.
Earlier this month, two of Walt Disney Worlds Pastry Chefs were awarded with a spot on Dessert Professional Magazine’s 2017 list of “Top 10 Pastry Chefs in America.”
First was Chef Stefan Riemer, who started his career with Disney’s Culinary team back in 1999 after being classically trained in Europe. Guests have come to know Chef Riemer for his pastry menus and new pastry brands such as Amorette’s Patisserie and The Ganachery at Disney Springs. He has also won the Walt Disney Legacy Award.
Riemer tells us, “I am so honored to be recognized, but a chef is nothing without a great team and the influence of the people surrounding him.”
The second recipient was Chef Olivier Saintemarie, who started with Disney when he moved from Paris to London, then joined Disney Cruise Line in 1999 where he performed duties as an Executive Pastry Chef. Guests know Chef Saintemarie for his expertise as the Executive Pastry Chef for Chefs de France at Epcot. When Disney decided to open the new bakery at the French pavilion in 2014, they offered Chef Saintemarie the position to oversee bread and pastry production for Les Halles Boulangerie-Patisserie, Les Chefs de France, Monsieur Paul and L’Artisan des Glaces.
Chef Saintemarie tells us, “Stefan and I met when we both joined the Disney company in 1999, and it was such an honor to be there together in New York receiving the award, in the company of such notable chefs.”
Dessert Professional Magazine is now in it’s 24th year of honoring Pastry Chefs with the award.
